A delegation of 31 Taiwanese companies led by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council has participated in the Xinjiang Silk Road Cultural and Creative Industry Expo in China on Nov. 5, 2015.
The TAITRA-led delegation members showcased their creative works and merchandize in a special pavilion called the "Taiwan Cultural Zone." The zone utilized a total of 48 booth areas and was divided into three main themes: Creative Aesthetics, Taiwan Tea, and Formosa Souvenir.
The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region occupies a vast area of 1.66 million square kilometers and shares a border spanning 5,600 kilometers with 8 neighboring countries.
Xinjiang is a regional center of cross border trade, and the expo offered an important platform for businesses looking to expand to the regional market.
The 4-day expo was joined by around 200 local and international enterprises. A total of 583 stands (12,230 square meters) were used for the show's 9 exhibition areas featuring art, IT, modern media, and tourism products.
