Taiwan Excellence has seen an extraordinary response in the last two years and is back to showcase its innovation in Mexico. The event, which is organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs, and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), was launched on the 12th of November at the Santa Fe Shopping Mall. Taiwan Excellence 2015 represents 35 award-winning brands that span across a number of product categories. A total of 79 products ranging from Information and Communication Technology (ICT), gaming, the home, transportation, leisure, and healthcare, are available for hands-on experience.
During the opening ceremony and press conference, the ambassador of Taiwan, Carlos Liao, said, “Taiwan is a small island with limited resources. Human talent is the most valuable asset we have, and that is reflected the statistic that close to 9 in 10 laptops are made in Taiwan, by such leading companies as Acer, Asus and Gigabyte. Not to mention, 1 in 10 bicycles are made in Taiwan as well, by Giant, Merida and Tern. Taiwan Excellence is a symbol representing the best brands from Taiwan.
“We are convinced that if the people of Mexico take a closer look at Taiwanese products, entrepreneurs looking for high quality products at a competitive price will find tremendous opportunities for trade.” Ambassador Liao added.
Julio Rodriguez, the National Vice President of Foreign Trade and International Affairs of CANACINTRA (National Chamber of the Manufacturing Industry in Mexico), added that Mexico is like the technological hub that gathers a lot of talented people in the telecommunication and technology industries. Mexico’s geographic location near the USA also provides a great entry point for entering the American market.
Among Taiwan Excellence nominees this year, ASUS presented its Zenbook UX305, a laptop with the 5th generation Intel Core M Processor and a 13” screen, and the gaming machine G751 ROG that comes with an Intel i7 processor, bringing a whole new level of experience to consumers.
